In a nutshell...

Solheim is a stand-alone, non-profit continuing care retirement community in the city of Los Angeles. It has served older adults in its same location in the neighborhood of Eagle Rock for 85 years. A faith-based community, it serves not only Lutherans, but people belonging to any faith community or to none. It has been accredited by the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission since 1996

Our Mission
The ministry of Solheim Lutheran Home is to provide an abundant life for older adults in a caring, Christian community where love, peace, dignity and security are found.

The Solheim Feeling…
is difficult to describe, but we know it exists! We hear it in those words – “There’s a feeling here…” enough from first-time visitors.

Some time ago we had a contest in which staff members were invited to tell briefly about the Solheim Feeling. A member of our nursing staff was the winner. Following is what she wrote.

There is love, understanding, unexplainable feeling!
A feeling of joy, happiness, unity and forgiveness.
A Christian feeling. A feeling that you’re not alone.
Somewhere there is love. Solheim is the place.
